Anna Lucille Deveau

Anna Lucille Deveau

Age 86. We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Anna Lucille on February 17, 2018 at the Foyer Père Fiset, Chéticamp. Born on June 29th, 1931 in Meteghan, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Willie and Marie (née Comeau) LeBlanc. After graduation, she pursued her education at Truro Normal College to become a teacher. There, she met her future husband Amédée Lionel Deveau and they married in 1956 and settled in her husband’s hometown of Chéticamp. She experienced and dreaded the local suête winds and though she missed her native “Baie Ste-Marie”, she learned to love her new extended Deveau family and adopted hometown. She chose to stay at home and provide a loving home to her children. In her leisure time, she liked to play bingo, bowl, before arthritis curtailed this activity, and play cards with a particular affinity for bridge and cribbage. She loved her pilgrimage trips to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. She was a member of Le Club des Retraités and Dames de Ste-Anne. The children wish to thank the Centre de santé communautaire Sacré-Coeur and the Foyer Père Fiset for the care given to their mother. Lucille will be missed by her children Jean-Guy, Eastern Passage, Gilles, Chéticamp, Nadine (Darin), Chéticamp and Carole (Wade), Moncton, N.B.; her grandchildren, Danielle (Tom) Barrett, Renée Aucoin, Olivier Aucoin, Alexis Aucoin; great-grandchildren, Natalie Barrett and Rachel Barrett; sister, Annette (Ernest) Comeau; brothers, Gérald (Antoinette) LeBlanc, Robert (Frances) LeBlanc, Wilfred (Josephine) LeBlanc, Nil (Geraldine) LeBlanc; sisters-in-law, Rita (Gerry) Murphy, Laurette (Daniel) Chiasson, Charlotte, Dauphine, Leila; brothers-in-law, Lévis (Blanche) , Arthur (Sylvia), Daniel (Theresa) Clarence (Agnes); as well as many nieces and nephews.
