Age 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. He was a son of the late Joseph and the late Luce Yvonne (Aucoin) Larade.
Gerard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved sports and was an avid golfer. He worked in the woods most of his life. In his later years, he fished with his son.
Gerard is survived by his loving wife, Lina (Aucoin); son, Joey (Carolyn); precious grandson, Connor; godson, Grayson, who he loved like a grandchild; brothers, Edgar (Catherine), Semi (Jeannine), Patsy (Julie), Linus (Lucille), and Albert (Lea); sisters, Laurette (Donat) LeBlanc, and Helena (André) Aucoin; sister-in-law, Lucie May (Edmond) Landry; brothers-in-law, Paul Joe (Aldora) Aucoin, and Marcel (Gloria) Doucet; godchildren, Angele Poirier and Marc Neary; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gerard was predeceased by his sisters, Martine and Mina; brother, Armie; and parents-in-law, John Joe and Marie Cecile Aucoin; brothers-in-law, Tommy, Albert, and Leopold; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth.
A graveside service (for family only) will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp with Father Daniel Gustave officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation or a charity of your choice.
