Age 84, Point Cross: It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of John LeBlanc on Monday, March 11, 2024. Born on December 5, 1939, in Margaree, NS, he was the son of the late Pierre and the late Annie (Muise) LeBlanc. John is survived by his daughter, Sandra Webster, Stratford, PEI and his beloved grandson, Samuel. He also leaves behind, his sister, Rita LeBlanc of Waltham, Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Roger (Karen) MacIsaac, Amherst, NS; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Heather (MacIsaac) LeBlanc whom he missed terribly since her passing almost 3 years ago. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Steve Webster; brothers, Clarence LeBlanc, Billy LeBlanc, Alex LeBlanc, and Patrick LeBlanc; sisters, Anna Mae Aucoin, Margaret Richard, Helen Chiasson, and Mary Doucet; and sister-in-law, Mary Eisenhauer.
Dad kept to himself in recent years but was always there to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Dad enjoyed snowmobiling in the winters and ensuring his grass was cut just right in the summer. He was a member of the Laborer’s International Union where he worked on many jobs throughout the area. He then moved to the Strait Regional School Board. Before his retirement he was custodian at Margaree Folks District High School, and he became very well known by both students and staff.
I would like to thank those that really helped Dad since Mom’s passing. Thank you for the meals and the visits, I know he appreciated you all. A special thank you goes out to his niece, Louise Anne Aucoin.
His remains will be resting at Cheticamp Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 7-9 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:30 am at Église St. Pierre, Chéticamp with Father Silvichen Dominic officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation.
Condolences
To Sandra and family, Your father was the kindest and gentlest of souls. He was one of the many wonderful people in my neighborhood as a child. No doubt he and your Mom have some catching up. So sorry for your loss.
Dear Sandra and Sam,
I was notified of John’s passing a couple of days ago, but the info I was given was not correct. I was told the wake was this evening. I got on the Funeral Home site this afternoon to verify only to find I had missed both the wake and funeral. So very sorry. I worked for the School Board for many years in a supervisory position and as such, John was one of many I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with. I say, work with, because those who greet you with a smile, always active, does their assigned duties completely and thoroughly, don’t need supervision. Such a man was John. I had reason to attend a funeral in Cheticamp last year and on my way back to Mabou, stopped in to see John. His home, as I would expect, was spotless. He appeared in good health, and the smile was still as I remembered, but the loneliness was evident. Nevertheless, we had a most enjoyable visit.
Sandra, again I am truly sorry. I not only missed the opportunity to show my respect for a true friend, but to meet you and Sam too. We will have a Mass said for him here in Mabou.

So sorry to hear of this news as we have been neighbours across the field for nearly 60 years, starting with my parents, Leo and Florence Chiasson, now deceased, and the remaining Chiasson children: Leona, Clifford, Denise, and Andre, (Maurice having passed away in 2020.). It was always a pleasure to chat with John as he was a kind and gentle man. We shall miss his immaculately groomed fields, especially the one next to our driveway. Please accept our condolences, Sandra and family.

Dear Sandra and Sam,
Your father and grandfather had a very special place in John and my hearts. He was a neighbour who went above and beyond. His eyes would light up when I brought him his favourite homemade cookies. He and John enjoyed each other’s company. He didn’t hesitate to look after our dogs for 3 days when we had an emergency. He helped me remove deck boards to retrieve Penny when she was trapped below, in the middle of his supper. John and he accomplished many things together like digging, shoveling, plowing, mowing, weed trimming … whatever it took to make our driveway and yards look polished. They went on side-by-side adventures along the ocean or up in the mountains. He was the best neighbour anyone could ask for. We will always feel him with us and miss our frequent talks. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to John’s family as he was a pleasant and gentleman whenever we crossed paths.
