Joseph Arthur Deveau

Age 80, of Plateau, Inverness County, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. He was the son of the late Pierre and Marie Rose (Camus) Deveau. Joseph Arthur worked most of his life as a woodcutter and fishplant worker. In his spare time he enjoyed playing the mouthpiece and harmonica , was a great stepdancer, loved hunting and sport fishing. He and his spouse, Beatrice were great Montreal Canadian fans, and enjoyed many a nights watching and cheering for their favorite team. He is survived by his wife Beatrice (Poirier) Deveau, Plateau; brothers, Henri Edouard ( Marie Louise), Henri Paul, and Albert; sisters, Lucie Mae Poirier, Marianne ( Gordon) Larade, and Marie Emma Deveaux. He was predeceased by brothers Patrick Eugene, Patrick George, and Paul Levis. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
