Joseph Arthur LeBlanc

Age 84, St. Joseph du Moine passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp. He was a son to the late Siméon (Simon) and the late Adèle (Aucoin) LeBlanc.

Arthur leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Elaine (Richard) LeBlanc; daughters, Lisa LeBlanc, Eileen LeBlanc (Eric Becker), and Annette LeBlanc (Larry Forsyth); grandchildren, Zachary Timmons, Jennifer Hill, Alaura Timmons, and Angel Becker; great grandchildren, DJ Gough, Chase Hagen, and Hazel Hagen; siblings, Dora Delaney, Helene Delaney, Joseph Alfred LeBlanc, and Jeanne Roode (Bill).
Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Agnes LeBlanc.

At the age of thirteen, Arthur was fishing with his father. He later moved to Waltham, Massachusetts for work. This is where he met his wife, Elaine, and began their family. He served as a member of the National Guard, worked 22 years at auto body repairs, with his own shop, then moved back home to St. Joseph du Moine to resume his business. He later worked at the fish plant, planting trees, and worked on the expansion of the golf course, establishing the last 9 holes. He then finished off his working years at Sea and Golf Chalets as maintenance person and caretaker. He was a member of the Legion and the Knights of Columbus, and served many nights working at the door for dances and receptions. He enjoyed hunting, drinking coffee and having the odd drink of Crown with his buddies. We’ll always remember him for his quick witty remarks and comments. I can imagine his final words being “Prenez garde au feu!”

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph du Moine in July. Date to be announced later.
