Joseph Hubert Aucoin

Age 73. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Hubert Aucoin of Chéticamp on March 12, 2018 in Lantana, Fla. He was the son of Emily Burns and the late Henri (a Mose) Aucoin. Joe was an honorable husband, father and grandfather. Upon leaving Chéticamp, he made Ontario his home for 15 years, where he was well-known as a favored boss to many staff throughout the Royal Bank. After 20 years of service, Joe took to his favorite place…in the sun. As an avid walker at his Florida home, he was known to many and always had a joke or comment for all those he met during his daily walks. Being punctual was innate to Joe; you could be assured to find him at four o’clock sharp for happy hour with family and friends, no matter where he was. Joe was a devout Catholic and practiced his faith in every aspect of his life; he was known for his generosity of his time and money. He was dedicated to his family, whom he loved and cherished. Joe was liked by all and always ready to help anyone in need. He was a real presence for those who knew him and loved to help others expecting nothing in return. Besides his mother, Joe is survived by his fiancée, Johanne Delaney; his daughter, Lisa (Jason) Blackwell; and his grand-children, Bryanna, Korall and MacKenzie. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Carmella; sons, Roger and Gregory; nephew, Rickey. He will be forever missed by his brothers, Louis Paul (Patricia), Chéticamp; André (Estelle), Shediac, N.B.; and his sister, Noella Chiasson, Chéticamp. He also leaves to mourn many dear friends; his nieces, Wanda, Shelley and Tanya and nephew, Bruce. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. in Chéticamp Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Église Saint-Pierre, Chéticamp with Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Patient Care Fund (https://www.because youcare.ca) or to Paroisse Saint-Pierre in Chéticamp.
