Age 84, Foyer Pére Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026 in the Guest Home. Ethel was a daughter of the late Thaddeo and the late Marie (Chiasson) Chiasson.
Ethel went to school in Petit Etang. She was a waitress all her life, before going to Montréal, Que.
Ethel is survived by her husband, André Poirier; her daughter, Brendalee Doucet; sisters, Laurette Larade, Marie Columbe Robichaud, Germaine Bourgeois, Martine Camus, Nettie C hiasson, and Stella Chiasson; brothers, Cyril Chiasson and Gaston Chiasson; grandchildren, Corey Doucet and Curtis Doucet; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Carter Doucet, and Quin Doucet.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Micheline Chiasson and Judy Scott; and her brother, Charlie Chiasson.
A private funeral, (for family only), will be held in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 with Father Daniel Gustave officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Patient Fund.
