Age 83, of Cheticamp passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. Marcel was a son to the late Joseph and the late Judith (Muise) Larade.
Born on June 19, 1941 in Cheticamp, Marcel left at a young age for Toronto, then Halifax where he worked at the Victoria General Hospital until he decided to move back to Cheticamp and where he met his loving wife, Sylvia whom he spent 53 years with and raised their son, Robert. Marcel worked at many places in Cheticamp until making his passion a reality by co-purchasing the Cheticamp Ambulance Services in 1989. He worked alongside many people who became family to him until he retired in 1998.
Marcel will be remembered for his great sense of humor, and witty remarks, as well as being a very caring and all-round great man. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends over tea and great conversations. Marcel’s greatest passions in life were being a beloved husband and father, but what he loved the most was being a great Pépére to Noah and Dayna, whom he adored and was most proud of.
Marcel will be forever loved and remembered by his loving wife, Sylvia; son, Robert (Nicole); grandchildren, Noah (Shaylah), and Dayna; sisters, Marie Stella Michaud, and Marie Cecile Malone; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Marcel was predeceased by brothers, Pierre Theodore Larade, Leo Larade, Patsy Larade, Alphonse Larade, Cyril Larade, and André Larade; sisters, Marie Sophique Roach, Margaret Ann LeFort, Beatrice Peters, and Marie Therese Abriel.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp.
Memorial donations may be made in Marcel’s memory to a charity of your choice.
