Age 86, Cheticamp passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp. Marcellin was the son of the late Christophe AuCoin and the late Emma Roach.
Marcellin is survived by his wife, Ethel (Bourgeois); son, Claude (Kelly); daughter, Lise (Claudie) Aucoin; grandchildren, J.R. (Carly), Riley, Brady, Nova, Jayden and Lucas; sister, Laurette (Eugene) MacGillivray; brothers-in-law, Albert Nugent, Joe Breininger, and Bill McCue; and sister-in-law, Claudette Aucoin.
Marcellin was predeceased by his brothers, Wilfred and Albert; sisters, Marie-Helene, Elizabeth, Rita, and Thérèse.
Marcellin was an employee of La Paroisse Saint-Pierre, and worked at Le Centre Acadien for 40 years. He was a member of the Cheticamp Volunteer Fire Department and also on the Palliative Care Team.
A devoted father and grandfather, he was very proud of his family’s accomplishments. His love for them was unconditional, as they were his pride and joy. He was a friend to all. To know him was to love him.
Marcellin was regarded as a master at filleting fish, enjoyed “running” and hosting La Mi-Carême. Marcellin was fond of gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved spending his evenings watching his favorite hockey team, Les Canadiens de Montréal.
Throughout his illness, he was cared for by his wife of 60 years before becoming a resident of Le Foyer Père Fiset, where he adapted very well to his surroundings, and always greeted staff with a huge smile.
The family invites you to L’Église St. Pierre on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, where they will be accepting condolences at 1:00 pm until time of funeral mass at 2:00 pm with Father Pierre Antoine St. Cyr officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Le Foyer Père Fiset.

Dear Ethel, Claude, Lise and all family members..I am so very sorry to hear of Marcellins passing My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time. Marcellin was always one of my favorite cousins, he was always so fun to be around and always so welcoming any time we went for a visit. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in Peace Marcellin!
Sorry to hear about Marcellin passing. He was my first cousin, his Mom and my father (Hubert) were siblings. I always enjoyed talking to him at the Acadian centre when we would hang out there during our vacation time in Chrticamp. Condolences to all who loved him
