Margaret A. Paturel

On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the age of 97, Margaret A. Paturel passed away peacefully at the Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp, NS. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Ingraham and the late Annie Phillips. She is reunited with the love of her life and husband, Michael H. G. Paturel, to continue their long love of dancing.

Margaret is survived by her children, Barb Phillips (late Francis), Michael Paturel, Robert Paturel (Kathy), Emile Paturel (Louise), Jean-Marc Paturel (Darlene), Marie Paturel (Liz), and Daniel Paturel (Tammy); sisters, Alice Swords (Jerry) and Della Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Olive Ingraham, Marlene Bursey, and Grace Ingraham; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Reuben, James, Bevis, Alex, and Bud; and sisters, Laura, Ella, and Doris.

She was a hardworking woman, who was well known for her baking (especially her cream puffs and apple pie). She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, bowling, playing BINGO and many games of Skip-Bo. We all know how infectious her smile was, how she loved to laugh, how she loved unconditionally and that is how the family would like her to be remembered.

Visitation will be held at the Belle Cote Community Centre on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph du Moine on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Silvichen Dominic officiating. Internment immediately following the mass at the St. Joseph du Moine cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Margaree Meals on Wheels program, Belle Cote Community Centre or a charity of choice. Family flowers only by request of the family.
