Age 82 of Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 29, 2026 in the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. She was a daughter of the late Michael “Mick” and the late Sarah (Kendall) Burns.
Before going to the Foyer Père Fiset, she loved going for drives in the park, hoping to see any moose, deer or bears.
Jackie was very happy to be in the Foyer with her husband, of 56 years, Joseph Arthur. She made many friends while at the Foyer, and enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts with her friend Dorothy. She will be missed by her family and friends. Thank you to everyone who took such good care of her. God Bless!
Jackie is survived by her husband, Joseph Arthur Camus; sons, Jimmy Burns (Isabel), Neil Crowe, and step-son, Kevin Camus (Jenn); daughters, Barbara Camus, step-daughters, Darlene MacIsaac (Joe), and Debbie Gosse (Gary); brother, Michael “Pepper” Burns; and 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
Besides her parent, Jackie was predeceased by her son, Michael Camus; daughter, Charlene Camus; daughter-in-law, Dawn Crowe; and granddaughter, Skylar Crowe; brothers, John, Mike, Andrew, Frankie, and Ray Johnie “Mick”; and sisters, Mary Ellen, Florence, Caroline, Theresa, and Marion.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm in St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp with Father Daniel Gustave officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Foyer Père Fiset.
