Marguerite LeBlanc

September 4, 1960 – April 14, 2026

Marguerite LeBlanc, 65, of Chéticamp, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2026. Born in Chéticamp to the late Pierre and Marie Anne (LeFort) Bourgeois, Marguerite was a woman whose life was defined by her generous spirit, her love of tradition, and her unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

A familiar voice and a warm heart in the community, Marguerite worked for many years at Le Foyer Père Fiset. She found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful things: long phone calls with friends, the welcoming of company into her home, and the constant presence of Acadian music and CKJM on the radio. A gifted cook, she was particularly well-known for her excellent blood pudding, a cherished recipe she proudly carried on from her mother. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always happiest when sharing her time and her table with others.
Marguerite took great pride in watching her sons mature into loving husbands and fathers, and she was exceptionally proud of their successful business ventures. In her later years, her granddaughters, Emily, Danielle, and Malorie, were her greatest joy. She also looked forward to her cherished trips to Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine to visit family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Loriann) LeBlanc and Joel (Kelly) LeBlanc; her beloved granddaughters, Emily, Danielle, and Malorie LeBlanc; her brothers, Pierre Lévis Bourgeois (Shirley), Vincent Bourgeois and Roger Bourgeois (Laurette); and her sisters, Louise Anna Aucoin (Alfred), Zabeth Brown (George), Stella Neary (Wilburt), and Monique Deagle (Campbell). She also leaves behind her goddaughter Cindy Bourgeois; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many close friends who will miss her dearly.

Marguerite was predeceased by her husbands, Edgar LeBlanc and Michel Longuépée; her step-daughter, Dawn Crowe; and her brothers, Emile, Ephrem, Henry, Alphonse, and Robert Bourgeois.

There will be no visitation. A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp where she will be laid to rest with Edgar.

In memory of Marguerite, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation.
