Age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 1, 2025, at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. Dianne was the daughter of the late Moise and the late Luce Agnes (Chiasson) LeBlanc.
Born in Chéticamp, Dianne worked in several restaurants as both a waitress and a cook. She was an avid baker who loved preparing treats for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dianne cherished the company of her sisters. Playing a lively game of 200 with them brought her tremendous joy, and together they were fondly known as the “Golden Girls.” Anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with Dianne knew how fortunate they were—her warmth, kindness and humor made every moment special.
Above all, Dianne was her sons’ and grandchildren’s number-one fan. She loved watching them play hockey and was always their most enthusiastic supporter in the stands. She also never missed an opportunity to watch Emilie step-dance. She was endlessly proud of them and treasured every moment spent with her precious grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters and best friends, Julia Lester, Therese Murphy, Marie Hilda Aucoin and Eileen Belliveau; and her brothers, Albert and Linus LeBlanc.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Willie Joe; her sons, Alvin (Johanne) and Stephen; her cherished grandchildren, Christian, Emilie, and Carson; her sister, Elizabeth Chiasson; her special niece, Annette LeLievre; and many other nieces and nephews. She will also be lovingly missed by her grand-dogs, Chester, Neily, and Ginny.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, the Inverness Oncology Team, and especially the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre for their kindness and care over the past few months.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. There will be a graveside ceremony at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation or the Cape Breton Cancer Patient Care Fund.

Aaaww…I had the pleasure of meeting Dianne several months ago at the hospital 🏥. We shared a room. She was a nice lady,and she sure was funny too. We laughed alot,it passed the time for us both.
Her son Steven came in to visit her 2 and sometimes 3 times a day. Such a great son to her. Her face lit up everytime he came in. Of course Ginny always accompanied Steven, which always made for an even better visit.
