Aged 90 of Chéticamp died on February 27, 2025 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre. She was the daughter of the late John Harris and the late Clothilde Ivy.
Marie Louise worked many years at Jean’s Gift Shop and at the Cheticamp Fish Coop until her retirement. She was an avid bowler, loved to play bingo and also loved a good card game. Marie Louise was known for her beautiful hooked rugs.
Marie Louise is survived by her husband Henrie Edward Deveau; son, Raymond Harris (Dina Cormier); daughter Glenna Mullins (Dave); and one granddaughter, Moira.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Tommy, Willie, Patrick, Joseph Charles; sisters, Marie Agnes, Marie Cecile, Dora Mae, Germaine, Lucie Anne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Cheticamp Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 2 pm at St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp with Father Daniel Gustave officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care or the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation.
