Age 85 of Foyer Père Fiset, Cheticamp passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Virginie (Poirier) Deveau.
Marie is survived by her sons, Bruno (Lise), and William; grandchildren, Jason (Kelly), and April; and great grandchildren, Brayden, Liam, Hunter, Jake, Fynn, Ethan, and Brock.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Réné; her daughter, Lynn; and son-in-law, Wesley; her brothers, Alphonse, and Albert; and granddaughter, Megan (Jamie-deceased).
A private graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp.
Memorial donations may be made in Marie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, Foyer Père Fiset or a Charity of your Choice.

Bruno, Lise, William and all grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were so saddened to hear of Marie’s passing as she was such a wonderful person. Her love for her family and her kindness to others were always a part of her life. We know that she will be greatly missed but also know that there will be many memories of love and laughter for each of you to cherish as time passes. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Bruno, William, I am so sorry about your mother. Such a loss. She was my cousin and I have good memories of her in younger days. Paula told me about her when I visited last summer. I didn’t get a chance to see you Bruno. David talks about you and your boat(s) He’s got his own and his son Jacob is now a “boat guy”.
