Muriel Camus

Age 79, of Cheticamp, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp. She was a daughter of the late Levi and the late Elizabeth (Poirier) Camus.

Muriel is survived by her daughters, Elaine Reynolds (Nathan) and Valerie Antolic (Henry); brothers, Richard Camus (Lucie), Pierre Paul Camus, and Lomay Camus; sisters, Donalda Poirier, Marie Victoire Camus (Angus), Diane Gear (Lloyd), and Betty Ann Camus (Wayne); grandchildren, Megan Reynolds, Michael Antolic, and Rachael Antolic; and great grandchildren, Abigail Antolic and Olivia Antolic.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leopold Doucette; son, Brian Doucette; brothers, André Camus, Alec Camus, Alphonse Camus, Daniel Camus, and Cyril Camus.

We would like to express our extreme gratitude to all the amazing staff at the Foyer Père Fiset for their kindness, patience, gentle care and compassion to us during a very emotional time. We will be forever grateful for the outstanding care our Mom received during her years at the Foyer.

We would also like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the Cheticamp Funeral Services. Their kindness and gentle guidance, along with genuine care they provided, brought a great deal of comfort to us and made a difficult process easier to navigate. We are truly grateful.

Muriel has been laid to rest through cremation. Family will gather for a private interment at a later date. Donations can be made in Muriel’s memory to the Foyer Père Fiset, whose care and compassion meant so much to Muriel and her family.
