Nancy Jeanne Boyd

Age 85 of the Foyer Père Fiset, Cheticamp passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026 . Nancy was a daughter of the late George and the late Muriel (Whitson) Loxton.
Nancy was born and raised in Petrolia, Ont. She spent most of her adult life in the Sarnia, Ont. area where she worked and raised her three children on her own. She was known for her friendly, fun demeanor and her dedication to her family. Nancy was always there for her children and her grandchildren…stepping up to help them through all the bumps and challenges of life, both good and bad. She leaves behind many, many friends. Some lifelong friends as well as many she met through her years working at the unemployment office as well as her post retirement job with Christian Horizons/Community Living. Nancy came to know the Lord as an older adult and her strong faith held her through the challenges she faced. She spent her final years in Cape Breton, where she moved to be closer to her nurse daughter as her health deteriorated. She will be fondly remembered as a good friend and confidant to many, but mostly as a great mother and the best Nana ever. She will be missed.
Nancy is survived by her son, William Andrew “Andy” Boyd; daughters, Dorothy Diane “Didi” Boyd, and Margo Anne Harrison; her grandchildren, Luke Goulet, Rachelle Goulet, Lee Ann Trowbridge, Michelle Trowbridge, and Mathew Trowbridge.
Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her children’s father, Henry Grant Boyd; her brother, Jim Loxton; and her sister, Jill Loxton.
A memorial service will be held in Ontario at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Christian Community Church of Cheticamp, Building Fund.
