It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Aucoin, age 79, Cheticamp, Nova Scotia on September 19, 2021. Born on March 25, 1942, Ron was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was the proud owner of the Acadian Motel and Doryman Beverage Room which he ran for over 50 years alongside his brother Wilburt. He had the utmost respect for both his employees and the community of Cheticamp. Ron was always looking for ways to give back and support the area. This was shown in his dedicated attendance to local sporting events. He spent countless hours watching generations of community children develop into fine young adults through the gift of sport. His sense of adventure and love of travel guided him down many roads with some of his best memories being his trips to visit family in PEI.
Ron was a loving husband to Catherine (McAuliffe) Aucoin; father of four and grandfather of 11; Suzanne (Barry) Duggan, children, Emily, Dominique and Elyse; Ronnie (Juleigh) Aucoin, children, Andrew and April; Janice Aucoin Devereux, children, Brennan, Austin, and Donovan; Steven (Monette) Aucoin, children, Emma and Annik. Ron is also survived by his sisters, Sharlene (Alex-John) Burns, Karen (Bernie) Mattie; brother, Wilburt Aucoin (Stella Neary), and a large extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilburt and Margaret (MacGillvray) Aucoin; sister, Valerie Muise; brother, Cecil Aucoin; son-in-law, Brent Devereux, and grandson Luc Duggan.
Special thanks to Dr. Chiasson and the staff at the Foyer Père Fiset for their incredible kindness and outstanding care. In memory of Ron Aucoin, our family would ask that you support local businesses and give back to the community. A private family service will be held at a later date.

For many years my husband and I stayed at the Acadian Motel on our anniversary August 3rd. Well my husband passed away November 23rd 2020,so our trips together are passed. Ron always suggested places in the community to eat visit and enjoy. We always took his advice. We looked forward to our visits to Cheticamp and the Acadian Motel, sitting on the deck overlooking the water and watching the amazing sunsets. Please accept my sincere condolences. DENISE BURNS
