Simone Marie Lefort

Age 81 – Cheticamp.  It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Simone Marie Lefort, our loving, devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. 

Born April 16, 1941, she left us peacefully on December 20, 2022 at the age of 81.  

Simone was predeceased by parents Tancrede Chiasson, and Marie Louise (LeBlanc) Chiasson, and her husband, Francis Lefort.

She leaves behind her 4 children, Marc Lefort, Kevin Lefort, Donna Thompson and James Lefort; 6 grandchildren, Timothy Lefort, Michael Lefort, Aimee Stauffer, Jillian Lefort, Emiliano Lefort-Liceaga, and Marisol Lefort-Liceaga; 2 great grandchildren, Layla Lefort, and Nova Stoffer; her sister, Anna Gaudet; and brother, Roland Chiasson.   

Prior to settling back home in Cheticamp, NS in 1995, Mom & Dad spent decades moving residences from NS, NWT, BC, PQ, NB & AB. She was never fond of uprooting the family and leaving friends and memories behind, but always managed to make our new house a HOME.  

Mom was a member of Les Femmes Acadiennes de Chéticamp, volunteer at the Sacred Heat Community Health Centre, loved watching TV game shows, listening to local radio CKJM-FM,  Thursday talent night music at The Doryman, and most of all breakfast with friends at Le Restaurant Evangeline!

Our family would like express our gratitude to Mom’s dear friends and all the staff at the Foyer Pere Fiset who supported and cared for her.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
