Age 81, Cheticamp passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. He was a son of the late Carmen and the late Helen (Stickland) Sheridan.
Wally was married to Sylvia for 54 years. He was a truck driver all of his life. After he retired he and his wife Sylvia moved back to Cheticamp to be close to his wife’s family. He loved taking his grandsons to play hockey. He was a big fan of the Nascar races, spending every Saturday at the track. Since moving back to Cheticamp, he would join the men for coffee at the senior’s hall.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and Drs. Michel Chiasson and Amélie Maillet for the excellent care Wally received while he was in hospital. Thanks to Maurice and Robert from the Funeral Home for their compassion.
Wally is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Chiasson) Sheridan; son, Darryl (Krista) Sheridan, Ontario; daughter, Tracey (Sheridan) Elliott, Ontario; sisters, Janice O’Connor and Sandra Burling, both from Ontario; grandchildren, Caleb Elliott and Carsyn Elliott; mother-in-law, Annie Rose Chiasson.
Besides his parents, Wally was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Sheridan.
Burial will take place in Ontario at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
