Born in Chéticamp on September 4,1958, Kevin was a son of Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Chiasson and the late Bernie Chiasson. Besides his mom, left to mourn him are sisters: Bernice (Mike) Lucas, Jeannine (Gélas) Aucoin, and Gisèle (Paul) Gartland. Also left to mourn his loss are his nieces and nephews: Melissa, Renée, Allison, Justine, Ryan, Hannah and Marcus, along with their families. Numerous cousins far and wide will miss “Chigzee”. Kevin enjoyed time spent with very close friends, Maurice à Marie Luce, Rheal à Léo à Pat, David à Freddie à Paul, and Alphonse à Louis Philip. Whether fishing, camping, spending
time enjoying each other’s company or even sharing a beer or two, his time
with the boys was always time well spent. Much to his mom’s delight, his
blueberries were picked impeccably clean, a talent learned honestly from
his dad. An avid dart player, Kevin looked forward to starting up the dart
league each year, though he never shot a 180, we’re sure he’ll keep at it.
No dance he attended was ever complete until he whisked his mom around
the floor for her round dance, in her words, “He was a great dancer, so light
on his feet.” To know Kevin well, was to know a side of him not known to
many, a gentle giant with a kind heart. As much as we were shocked at
losing him, family gone before him will have been equally surprised upon
his arrival. Dad, brother, Linus, nieces, Lindsay and Ashley, many aunts and uncles, and above all, his truest, most faithful companion, his dog, Morgan were there to welcome him with open arms. The family would like to thank our cousin
Carmella Murphy for being there for Kevin, treating him with such dignity and respect. Please join us as we say goodbye to him on Thursday, December 13th from 7-9 pm at the Chéticamp Funeral Home, Chéticamp. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 14th at 10:30 a.m., in Église St. Joseph in St.Joseph du Moine, with Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.

On Friday, December 7th, 2018 Joseph Kevin Chiasson passed away in the same way he lived much of his life, quietly and alone at his home in St Joseph du Moine.
