Our sister accepted and faced her health challenges with remarkable grace and calmness. Jeannine retired from Victoria General Hospital in Halifax at the age of 50 and returned to her Cape Breton home where she led a very private and quiet life. She was a very compassionate person who had a soft heart for animals and children and loved cards and Bingo. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Born in <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Cheticamp<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, on November 16, 1955, she was the daughter of the late <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Yvonne(<\/span><span class=\"s2\">AuCoin<\/span><span class=\"s2\">) and Joseph Albert Cormier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Jeannine is survived by four sisters; <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Rose Marie<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Chiasson<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, Marie Deli<\/span><span class=\"s2\">a, Pricilla, and Sheila; three brothers; Arthur, Leon (Kathy MacArthur), and Richard; nieces and nephews, Suzanne, Nancy, Wallace, Dale (Jessica <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Munian<\/span><span class=\"s2\">), Andrew MacArthur (Helen); grand-niece and nephews Piper, Jackson, and Deacon. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Norman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">\u2018\u2019<\/span><span class=\"s3\">Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day\u201d.<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> We will miss and remember our sister and hold her deep in our hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Jeannine\u2019s primary Physician, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Amelie<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">Maillet<\/span><span class=\"s2\">; Dr. Paul <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Sonier<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, Family Physician, and all other Physicians and Health Care Providers who cared for our sister with great patience and compassion during her stay at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">A funeral mass will be celebrated today, Wednesday, at <\/span><span class=\"s2\">St.Joseph\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Church, St. Joseph du <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Moine<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> at <\/span><span class=\"s2\">10:30 A.M. with Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Burial in the parish cemetery.<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Nova Scotia.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Age 63, Grand Etang died peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp.
