The family of Marie \u201cCarmelle\u201d Maillet, aged 71 of Moncton NB, is saddened to announce her passing on November 15, 2019 in Moncton City Hospital exactly one month after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.\u00a0 Born in Ch\u00e9ticamp, NS on August 24, 1948, she was the eldest child of the late Henri and Marie Eva (Bourgeois) Maillet of Petit \u00c9tang, Inverness County, NS.\u00a0 She is survived by brothers Ren\u00e9 Maillet, Inverness; Daniel Maillet (Nora Henderson), Bedford; sister Diane McNeil, Halifax; nephew Jonathan McNeil, nieces Lisa McNeil and Hannah Maillet.\u00a0 Besides her parents, she was predeceased by twin sisters at birth.<\/p>\n
Carmelle lived a life of service and generosity.\u00a0 She worked as an RN in Ch\u00e9ticamp and Moncton and ended her career as a pioneer with the Extra-Mural Program providing home and community based health care services in New Brunswick.\u00a0 After retirement, she did volunteer work for hospice care.\u00a0 She led a happy, healthy and active lifestyle.\u00a0 She will be lovingly remembered for her ability in gathering people and building lasting friendships.\u00a0 She had a way of bringing out the best in people and making them believe in themselves.<\/p>\n
Carmelle was devoted to caring for her family and friends all her life.\u00a0 She truly believed that laughing is good for the soul.\u00a0 Her legacy of kindness and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her and be loved by her.\u00a0 She made a difference.<\/p>\n
Cremation has taken place. There is no visitation by Carmelle\u2019s request.\u00a0 Funeral Mass will be held at \u00c9glise Saint-Pierre, Ch\u00e9ticamp on Wednesday, November 20 at 10:30am with Father Pierre Antoine St. Cyr officiating.\u00a0 Interment in the parish cemetery.\u00a0 Donations in Carmelle\u2019s memory may be kindly directed to Hospice Southeast New Brunswick, 640 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB E1C 2P3 in support of residential hospice care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
