{"id":2291,"date":"2019-12-26T14:52:37","date_gmt":"2019-12-26T18:52:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cheticampfuneralservices.ca\/?p=2291"},"modified":"2019-12-28T14:58:15","modified_gmt":"2019-12-28T18:58:15","slug":"joseph-claude-lefort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cheticampfuneralservices.ca\/en\/joseph-claude-lefort\/","title":{"rendered":"Joseph Claude LeFort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>76, of East Margaree, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Claude\u00a0was born on\u00a0August 18, 1943 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia to Paul and Antoinette (Aucoin) LeFort.\u00a0As the eldest in his family, he went to work at an early age to help his mother and father provide for the family. Claude was married to\u00a0Josephine (LeBlanc)\u00a0on\u00a0July 18,1964. They were living in Toronto at this time and Claude worked at the Goodyear Tire factory. Cyril and Michelle were born during Claude and Josephine\u2019s time in Toronto. However, Cape Breton Island called them home and they returned in 1970. They returned first to Cheticamp, where Leroy was born and then finally settled in East Margaree. Claude and Josephine were married\u00a053 years until Josephine\u2019s sudden death on March 20, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>After relocating to Cape Breton, Claude\u00a0worked in the forestry industry cutting pulp, running machinery and driving a truck for Joseph A. LeBlanc Ltd. and John E. MacLean Enterprises. In the late 90\u2019s he worked for a short time in Northern Alberta. Claude was an avid card player and loved attending local card plays. He also loved to fish and was known by all the fly fisherman on the Margaree River. He\u00a0was a lifetime Honorary Kinsmen, being one of the founding members of the Margaree Kinsmen Club. Most of all he was very proud of his family especially his grandchildren. They will all miss his phone calls, card games and trips to the restaurant for fish and chips.<\/p>\n<p>Claude\u00a0is survived by\u00a0his three children Cyril (Terri), Michelle Arsenault (Earl), Leroy (Wanda); grandchildren Kayla (Mike Kofahl), Bethany Chiasson (Justin), Kegan Arsenault (Kelsey), Jillian Arsenault, Hailee (Ward MacDonald) and Darcie; great grandchild Camryn (Kegan and Kelsey); brother Paul (Emma); sisters Stella Klingemann (Klaus), Dora Maillet (Robert), Ginette (Doris), Therese, Yvonne LeFort-Goosens (Peter) and other extended family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Claude\u00a0is preceded in death by\u00a0his wife Josephine and brothers Russell, Armand and Cyrille.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019 from 7 to 9pm, at St. Michael\u2019s Parish Hall. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 31<sup>st<\/sup>, 2019 at 11:00 am, at St. Michael\u2019s Church, East Margaree, Nova Scotia. Fr. Bedford Doucette will be officiating along with Fr. Macdonald Ibeh. Interment of ashes will follow the funeral at St. Michael\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pepere, we will carry you with us till we see you again.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>76, of East Margaree, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2019.
