Born in Cheticamp on August 3, 1951, he was the son of the late Henri and the late Marie Eva (Bourgeois) Maillet of Petit Etang, Inverness County. He is survived by his sister, Diane McNeil, Halifax; brother, Daniel Maillet (Nora Henderson), Dartmouth; a nephew and 2 nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Carmelle Maillet, and twin sisters at birth.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9n\u00e9 loved a good laugh and sharing time with his family and friends. He was a proud lifetime member of the Cheticamp Kinsmen Club. Although he had many life struggles, R\u00e9n\u00e9 has an incredibly positive attitude and formable strength and determination; he fought the good fight and can now rest in peace. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n<p>Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at a later date. The family is indebted to the staff at the Inverary Manor for their care of R\u00e9n\u00e9 since 2019.
