It saddens us to announce the passing of Simon Pierre LeFort on May 2, 2022 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp at the age of 86. He was born in Cheticamp on April 10, 1936 son of the late Geoffrey and the late Flavie (Aucoin) LeFort. Simon Pierre was involved in many community organizations. Two that were dear to him were the cooperative movement and the Knights of Columbus. .<\/p>\n
Simon Pierre is survived by his children, Alphonse (Rosie), Annette, Francine (Ga\u00ebtan), Ang\u00e8le, and Andr\u00e9a (Dale); grandchildren, Natalie (Alain), Andr\u00e9 (Melanie), Jocelyne, Tabitha (Nile), and Arthur (Megan); great-grandchildren, Zavier, Audrey, Julien, S\u00e9bastien, Hunter, and Lachlan; brothers, Ludger (Pauline), and Armand (Margarita); sister-in-law, Marie-Julie; step-brother, Clarence AuCoin; and step-sisters, Anita Dixon, Pauline LeFort, and Eva Burke. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Besides his wife, Lucie Mae (LeBlanc) LeFort, he was predeceased by a son, Andr\u00e9 Pierre; brothers, M\u00e9deric, Louis-Joseph, Albert, and Alphonse; step-sister, Margaret; and sister-in-law, Germaine.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 7-9 PM and Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 AM at St. Michael\u2019s Parish Hall, Margaree. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM at St. Michael\u2019s Church, Margaree with Father Silvichan Dominic officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Masks are requested by family.<\/p>\n
