Bertha LeBlanc \u201cMemere Cookie\u201d age 92 of Cap Lemoine, NS passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp.<\/p>\n
Bertha was a prime example of determination, perseverance, and honesty. She was a very kind and gentle person.\u00a0 Bertha devoted her life caring for others. She lost her husband Willie at the age of 28 from a drowning accident.\u00a0 Her oldest daughter Marina was born with cerebral palsy and her second daughter, Marie Cecile died of jaundice at an early age. She took care of her parents for many years. Bertha took everything in stride and never complained about her misfortunes. Bertha accepted the life she was given. Her saying was, \u201c That\u2019s the way\u00a0 life goes. \u201c C\u2019est la vie.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bertha loved a good game of 200, picking blueberries and eating homemade pie.<\/p>\n
She leaves behind her daughter, Marie Sophie; son in law, Gaston; her grandchildren, Marc (Laura), Halifax, Natalie (Craig), Cheticamp; great grandchildren, Owen, Amber, Kylie and Alana. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie; daughters, Marina, Cecile; her parents, Wilfred and Sophie Deveaux.<\/p>\n
The family would like to thank the staff of Foyer P\u00e8re Fiset and Sacred Heart Community Health Centre for their care, kindness, and professionalism. It is greatly appreciated!!<\/p>\n
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 from 2-3 pm at St. Joseph\u2019s Church, Saint Joseph du Moine. Funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm with Deacon Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Burial in parish cemetery.<\/p>\n
