It is with profound sadness that the family of Joseph Am\u00e9d\u00e9e Muise announces his sudden passing at home on July 06, 2022, at the age of 68.\u00a0 Joseph Am\u00e9d\u00e9e (Joe, Joey Bear, Pip) was born in 1953 in Ch\u00e9ticamp, NS, to the late Joseph Am\u00e9d\u00e9e Muise and the late Alice Camus.<\/p>\n
With a solid work ethic, Joe started working at the age of 14 as a fisherman with his dad. He then went on to serve his community as Manager of the Cheticamp Arena where he worked for 10 years. From there, he made a life changing decision to partner with Marcel Larade and take over the Cheticamp Ambulance Service where he began a long career as a paramedic and eventually a supervisor with EMC, then EHS, serving various regions of Cape Breton Island and receiving a number of prestigious awards. During this time, he supported many families and made life-long friends that were still in his life even after retirement.<\/p>\n
Joe was a leader who gave selflessly of himself to everyone he knew, especially his family and closest friends. From coaching sports teams, to mentoring new paramedics, to working tireless days and nights serving his community as a valued member of the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre Charitable Foundation, as well as being involved in numerous other volunteer positions over the past several decades.<\/p>\n
Most recently, Joe found fun and relaxation sharing a coffee and many laughs with his special group of friends or fishing off the wharf with his dearest fishing buddies, both old and young. Despite all these other roles, accomplishments and new hobbies, Joe\u2019s greatest joy came from spending time with all the \u201ckids\u201d that came into his life over the years. He treated them all like his own and there\u2019s nothing he wouldn\u2019t have done to see each one of them smile and they all looked to him for guidance and advice as they grew older.<\/p>\n
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marjolaine Muise; his stepson, Kenneth Chiasson (Leah); his sisters, Beatrice Romaniuk (Dmytro) and Yvette Muise; his grandchildren, Moira Clark (Greg) and Ainslee Chiasson. He is also survived by his in-laws, Lise Roach (Daniel), Nicholas Chiasson (Ginette), Gilberte Larade (Gelas), Jeanne Leblanc (Andr\u00e9), Jeannine Chiasson, Jean Maurice Chiasson (Wanda), Marc Larade (Lyne); and 14 nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
His memory will live on in all those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten by all his family and dearest friends.<\/p>\n
