Age 96 of Grand \u00c9tang, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at Centre de Sant\u00e9 Communautaire Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur, Ch\u00e9ticamp. She was the daughter of the late Daniel (Dan \u00e0 Padd\u00e9) Delaney and the late Marie (Poirier) Delaney. Delia is survived by her son, Gilles (Neala Gill), Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband, Fid\u00e8le Deveau; sister, Marie-Louise Cormier; and brothers, Alec Delaney and Joseph Delaney.<\/p>\n
Delia led a simple but full life.\u00a0 She enjoyed playing piano, tending to her vegetable garden and hooking wool and rag rugs in the Cheticamp style. She proudly lived independently – including planting her own garden – until this past summer.\u00a0 Many thanks to Drs. Amelie Maillet and Kassandra Sonier, staff at Centre de Sant\u00e9 Communautaire Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur and home care for caring for Delia these past 6 months.<\/p>\n
Funeral with visitation will be held at St. Joseph Parish, Saint Joseph du Moine Church at a later date when the weather is more suitable for her friends and family to attend.
