Age 71, Petit Etang passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. He was a son to the late Mederick and the late Justile (Aucoin) LeBlanc.<\/p>\n
In his early years, G\u00e9rald worked as a truck driver for P.C. Bourgeois, followed by many years at Cormier\u2019s Service Station and retired from C.A.R.E.S. (Green Door) after 12 years, where he treated the residents as his own children. After retirement, he worked a summer at the NSLC and L\u2019Acabie. G\u00e9rald was secretary for the Ch\u00e9ticamp Volunteer Fire Department and was Commanding Officer for the Army Cadets for many years.<\/p>\n
Always the entertainer, he loved making people laugh, music, dancing, and playing cards. There was no better Santa at Christmas. Following retirement, his passions were spending time with his grandkids and mowing the lawn.<\/p>\n
G\u00e9rald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ginette (Poirier) LeBlanc; son, Gary (Marsha); daughter, Jessica (Chris); brothers, Charles Joseph (Judy), Neddie (Liza), and Roland (Angie); sister, Camelle Larade; grandchildren, Henry and Felix.<\/p>\n
Besides his parents, G\u00e9rald was predeceased by his brother, Roger; and sister, Pauline.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Cheticamp Funeral Home from 2-4 pm followed by funeral service at 4 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in St. Peter\u2019s Cemetery, Cheticamp.<\/p>\n
Memorial donations may be made in G\u00e9rald\u2019s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sacred Heart Hospital Charitable Foundation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
