It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, R\u00e9al Cormier, on December 4, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Center in Ch\u00e9ticamp. Born July 21, 1962 in Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, he was the son of the late \u00c9mile and the late Marie (n\u00e9e Poirier) Cormier.<\/p>\n
A fisherman most of his life, the sea was where he felt most like himself. Before he returned to the region to be a fisherman, he had discovered a passion for cooking. Graduate from l\u2019Institut de tourisme et d\u2019h\u00f4tellerie du Qu\u00e9bec in Montr\u00e9al, he spent many years working in restaurant kitchens, but also loved to cook for his family. We will no longer be able to play a game of crib or listen to loud music in a rocking chair (specifically a wooden one) without thinking of him. He will be greatly missed. We also hope that you will hold onto good memories of R\u00e9al.<\/p>\n
R\u00e9al leaves to mourn his two children Pascale (William) and Louis, the mother of his children, Claire, as well as his siblings: Pauline (Gilles), Marie Jeannine (Claude), Roger (Mary), Daniel (Brenda), Bernadette (Alfred), R\u00e9gina, and Denis (Charlene). R\u00e9al also leaves his numerous nieces and nephews, and their families: Genevi\u00e8ve, Jacinthe, Jacques, Maxime, M\u00e9lanie, Tara, Chantelle, Adam, Ghislaine, Sylvain, Marie Jos\u00e9e, Fran\u00e7ois, Julien, Rachelle, Jonathan, Am\u00e9lie, Michael and Laura.<\/p>\n
He was predeceased by his parents \u00c9mile and Marie, his brother Maurice Cormier, and many friends, who we hope welcomed him with open arms.<\/p>\n
Our family would like to thank all the members of the medical teams who treated him during his cancer diagnosis over the past year and a half.<\/p>\n
The funeral will take place at Saint-Joseph’s Church, Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, on Saturday December 16 at 10:30 a.m with Father Pierre Antoine St Cyr officiating. The family will receive condolences one hour prior to the service at the church (9:30 a.m.).
