It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Suzanne Aucoin, age 89 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp on April 16, 2024. Born in Saint-Joseph-du-Moine on October 25, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Pat (\u00e0 Joe) and the late Minnie Aucoin. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Placide Aucoin and is survived by her daughter, Mona LeBlanc (Chester); and her grandson, Blaine. She also leaves behind her brother, Philias Aucoin (Laura) of Chertsey, Quebec; and many members of her extended family.<\/p>\n
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth, Lucy May, Therese, Hermine, Celina, and Stella; as well as her brothers, Freddie, L\u00e9o and Gerard.<\/p>\n
Mom was a resident of Foyer P\u00e8re Fiset in Ch\u00e9ticamp. She resided in RCF. She loved her new place where she felt right at home from day one. She was a generous, loving, kind and caring mother. She appreciated the small things in life and never asked for much. Mom always said – \u201cIt is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that makes us happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
M\u00e9m\u00e8re enjoyed quality time with her family, especially with her grandson, Blaine. She was also loved by many friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and believed in staying active and she did for as long as her health allowed her to. She was a jolly, fun loving person who loved to laugh. No one\u2019s eyes shone more than in the presence of children. Her bond with young and older children was special. She loved to sing and listen to music. Mom always had her radio on the local station, CKJM. She was a devoted catholic and had much faith in God. Mom, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. Rest in peace my beloved mom. Chester and Blaine and I thank you for all you\u2019ve done. You will be greatly missed by your loving family. Until we meet again\u2026xoxoxo<\/p>\n
Cremation has taken place. At her request, there will be a private graveside ceremony at St. Joseph\u2019s Cemetery, St. Joseph du-Moine. Memorial donations may be made to Foyer P\u00e8re Fiset or a charity of your choice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
