Age 83, of Petit Etang, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Eddie Joe was a son to the late Joseph and the late Catherine (LaPierre) Camus.<\/p>\n
Eddie Joe moved to Ontario in 1964. He married Annie Mae in 1966. He started working for Ford Canada in Oakville, Ontario in 1965 until his retirement in 1994. He and Annie Mae moved back home to Cheticamp in 2007. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting and trout fishing, especially with his brother, Daniel. His passion was guns. He was a collector of guns and a certified gunsmith. He loved a good debate, always insisting he was right. He loved his kids and grandchildren. Eddie Joe took very good care of his wife, Annie Mae. His compassionate care for her enabled her to live at home securely and feeling loved. He was a devoted Canadiens de Montreal fan. It was always a good source for a heated debate with his brother-in-law, Charlie Dan.<\/p>\n
Eddie Joe is survived by his loving wife, Annie Mae (Roach) Camus; his son, Steve (Sandy) Camus; his daughter, Denise (Robin) Street; brothers, Johnny (Agnes), Westmount, Daniel (Corrine), Cheticamp, and Lionel, North Sydney; sisters, Marie Agnes Jeffers, St. Diego, California, Annie Rose Bourgeois, Brantford, Ont., and Catherine (Edgar) Larade, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Rosalee, Jacob, and Juliet; Godchildren, Peter Dan, Cindy, and Steven; as well as someone very special and kind to Eddie Joe and Annie Mae, Roy Aucoin.<\/p>\n
Besides his parents, Eddie Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Victor, and Simon; and sisters, Marie Jessie, Cecile Th\u00e8rese, and Elizabeth.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Cheticamp Funeral Home from 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:30 am in St. Peter\u2019s Church, Cheticamp with Father Daniel Gustave officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.<\/p>\n
