Margaret was a daughter to the late Alex R. and the late Ruth (Conrad) MacEachern.<\/p>\n<p>Mom came to Cape Breton from Cape George, Antigonish County to babysit for her sister, Eva. That\u2019s when she met the young fellow from down the hill, the love of her life for 59 years, Alex. They married in 1966 and raised a family of five children.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, Mom remained at home raising and taking care of her family. She did work outside the home as her children got older. She worked at Heart of Hart\u2019s in Margaree Valley and, also Dorion\u2019s Bakery. Mom made the best apple pies, a tradition she passed on to her daughters. Mom was always a phone call away. She was a devote Catholic who never missed mass. She was a strong woman.<\/p>\n<p>No words can express our gratitude for the excellent care that she received from Dr. Susie Egar, and for the exceptional care she received from the caring staff (who became a part of our family\u2026we love you all) of the Harbor Lights Villa of the Inverary Manor\u2026Thank you!<\/p>\n<p>Margaret is survived by her husband, Alex Ross; children, Georgina (Maurice) Deveau, Sandy (Micheline) Ross, Verna (Gordie) Burns, Albert (Tanya) Ross, and Earl (Melissa) Ross; brothers, Louie MacEachern, Tommy \u201cBoshy\u201d MacEachern, and Tony MacEachern; sister, Eva Murphy; grandchildren, Byran (Sarah), Kelsey (Alex), Kelton (Courtney), Dylan, Sawyer, Shelby (Blake), Gordon (Kyle), Samantha, Tyler, Sara, Dennis, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Lucie Mae, Hudson, and Rowan.<\/p>\n<p>Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son in law, Ernest Poirier; brother, Albert MacEachern; and sisters, Catherine \u201cGirlina\u201d MacInnis, and Carmel Forbes.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick\u2019s Church, North East Margaree, on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 am with Father Silvichan Dominic officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
