He passed peacefully in his sleep following complications from cancer, in the presence of his son and after having been visited by many family members and loved ones.

Born in Montreal to parents Gloria (née Matheson) and Harry LeBlanc, he would move to Cape Breton as a young child with his parents and siblings, Darrell, Brenda, and Steve. Shaun’s life journey would eventually take him all across the country. He spent some years in Ontario and then returned to Nova Scotia in 1987, marrying Sheila Aucoin in 1989. With the help of family, he built a house in Belle Côte, before eventually becoming father to sons, Nicholas and Dylan.

His work life saw him experience the sea as a fisherman in Nova Scotia, and later, take on the responsibility of managing construction companies in Toronto and Vancouver. Shaun found joy in playing sports. Many afternoons were spent playing baseball, followed by a BBQ with friends and family in Belle Côte. He also enjoyed playing hockey throughout much of his life. When he wasn’t on the field or on the ice, he enjoyed a game of Texas hold ’em. Shaun had a love for dogs, especially his dear companion, Sunshine, and various family dogs that he lived with for many years, such as Ollie and Shaggy.

Shaun was known to those around him as a strong, loyal, and loving presence. He worked tirelessly to support those he loved, and he always offered assistance to those in need without a second thought. His love for his family was all-encompassing and unconditional.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas LeBlanc; his parents, Gloria and Harry LeBlanc; his sister, Brenda Burton (John); and his brother, Steve LeBlanc (Linda). Shaun is now reunited with his son, Dylan; his brother, Darrell; and his niece, Sherri, who welcome him with love.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Dylan LeBlanc Memorial Fund by e-transfer to: Dylanleblancmemorial@gmail.com.
