Hector was the son of the late Charles Elore and the late Virgine (Aucoin) Deveau.<\/p>\n<p>Hector was born in Cheticamp on February 14, 1939. As a young man he started working at the fish plant in Grand Etang with his father, Charles. After a few years, Hector started to work at the fish plant in Cheticamp, where he worked for 35 years. Hector married Marie Cecile and moved to St. Joseph du Moine. After the moratorium on cod fishing, Hector continued to work various jobs as a carpenter, mowing lawns, some painting, and volunteer work. He had many hobbies, including planting his garden, bowling, playing pool, setting rabbit snares, and cutting his firewood.<\/p>\n<p>Hector is survived by his wife, Marie Cecile (Chiasson) Deveau; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Besides his parents, Hector was predeceased by his step-sister, Cecile (late Gracien) Roach; sisters, Yvonne Bourgeois (late Edmond), and Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Celina (Jean-Marie) Landry.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph\u2019s Church, St. Joseph du Moine with Deacon Gerald LeBlanc officiating.
