Age 91 – of Grand Etang passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. Lorette was a daughter of the late Joseph and the late Annie (Roach) Chiasson.<\/p>\n
Lorette was a very kind, pleasant, lovely lady. She was loved by all who knew her. Everyone was always welcomed at her home for tea and delicious baked goods. She will be remembered for her famous \u201crolls\u201d. She loved to cook, bake, pick wild berries, play TV bingo, play cards\u2026especially 200, read novels, do jigsaw puzzles, rug hooking, and so much more. Lorette worked hard all her life. Aside from raising her four children, she also worked at FJ Aucoin Variety store, then Lemoine Credit Union, and the fish plants in both Cheticamp and Grand Etang. She also volunteered on various local committees. In her final years, living at the Seniors apartments in Lemoine, Lorette enjoyed her time gathering with fellow residents who became good friends.<\/p>\n
Lorette is survived by her sons, Jules (Michelle), and Camille (Paulette); daughters, Denise, and Aline (Peter); sisters, Therese and Marguerite; grandchildren, Jeannot (Lindsay), Mario (Kaitlyn), Jessica, and Jocelyne (Chris); and great grandchildren, Trent, Rachel, Owen, Eva, Lydia, and Leti.<\/p>\n
Besides her husband, Elie Joseph Chiasson, Lorette was predeceased by her son-in-law, Yvon Doucet; brothers, Gerald; and sisters, Rita and Marie Edna.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 in St. Joseph\u2019s Church, St. Joseph du Moine from 9:30 am until time of funeral mass at 10:30 am with Father Daniel Gustave officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
