Age 86 of Cheticamp, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Marie was a daughter of the late Athanase and the late Josephine (AuCoin) Larade.
\nOur mother, Marie, was a quiet woman. She will be remembered for her beautiful rug hooking, for over 60 years. In 1972, she presented a Tree of Life hooked rug which was presented to Queen Elizabeth 11, in Halifax. She always wore an apron and had great pleasure baking for her grandchildren and her many friends.
\nMarie is survived by her daughters, Lisette Muise, Nicole Muise, and Aline (Dave) Anderson; her grandchildren, Josie Hobin and Jenna Hobin; and her great grandson, Leo.
\nBesides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Leo Muise; her brothers, Anselm John Larade and Charlie Larade; and her sister, Dina Deveau.
\nVisitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 in the Cheticamp Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.
\nFuneral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11 am in St. Peter\u2019s Church, Cheticamp with Father Daniel Gustave officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
