It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Jeannine LeBlanc, 57, Cheticamp, which occurred on June 23, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp.
Born in Cheticamp, she was the daughter of the late Thérèse and Dave LeBlanc. Jeannine worked at many different jobs. She loved to be surrounded by people as she worked as a waitress and a bartender. At Paturel Seafood, she loved to help the fishermen. She also was most content when she worked outdoors, whether it was fishing or scrubbing cars at the car wash. She also volunteered her time doing yard work and shoveling the sidewalks on the Cheticamp main road. She was very proud when she received recognition for her hard work.
Jeannine had many hobbies including reading, making puzzles and working on her Paint by Numbers. She was very competitive while playing hockey and cards, whether it be crib or “La dame de pique”. She was best known for her adventurous personality and for telling it like it is.
She is survived by her sister, Paulette Fraser (Ricky) and her 5 brothers, Réné (Linda), Lionel (Stella), Chester (Mona), Kevin, and Ronnie (Lisa). She will also be missed by her 8 nieces and nephews as well as her 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Cheticamp Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Église St. Pierre, Cheticamp, with Deacon Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Donations in her memory can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Patient Fund.
