It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Aucoin of Chéticamp, formerly of Grand Etang at the age of 75 which occurred on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 in the Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born in Chéticamp, he was the son of the late Johnny à John and Laura (Cormier) Aucoin. Victor was a devoted provider for his family who enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, especially at l’AMAC on Tuesday nights. He was an auto mechanic at his “Texaco” garage for many years among many other jobs. He was a volunteer fireman for the Lemoine Fire Department and a member of the K.O.C., Council # 3850. He volunteered for many community organizations. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Anna Aucoin; sons, Vic Aucoin (Deb) , Adrien, Rémi (Sylvie) Aucoin; daughters, Micheline (Sandy) Ross, Victorine Roach (Robert), Debra (Robert) Doucet, Glenna (Gordon) Arsenault; brother, Maurice (Marcella) Aucoin; sisters, Corrine (Glen) Murdy, Jeanne Deveau, Laurel LeFort, Glenna Rainville (Conrad); grandchildren, Fabian, Kelton, Rénée, Liam, Céline, Danelle, Dillon, Sawyer, Riley, Alyssa, Eddie; great-grandchild, Koster. He was predeceased by brother, Harvey; sisters, Béatrice Deveaux and Léa Caissie. Visitation will be held in Cheticamp Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14, with visiting hours from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 15th at 10:30 a.m. in Église Saint Joseph, St. Joseph du Moine with Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the Inverary Manor, 72 Maple St., Inverness, N.S., B0E-1N0.
