Sylvia LeBrun

Sylvia LeBrun

Age 76, Cheticamp passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. Sylvia was a daughter to the late Joseph P. and the late Louisa (Poirier) LeFort.

Sylvia was trained as an LPN and loved her time working at the Foyer Père Fiset in the 70’s. She had to stop working when she got sick in 1978. This allowed her to become a full-time mom to her daughter Jessica. Sylvia led a simple but meaningful life, often volunteering over the years when she could, and singing in the church choir. She loved the simple things in life, like walking outside, being able to put clothes out on the line on a nice sunny day, and going for drives with her husband, Joseph. Sylvia loved spending time with her grandson, Liam. She loved watching his hockey and volleyball games online.

Sylvia was loved by all who crossed her path and will be fondly remembered as a soft spoken but strong woman. She was never one to complain and always saw the positive in every situation. Despite her physical limitations due to lifelong illness, she was thankful and proud of her accomplishments. It is very fitting that she left us on a calm and sunny spring morning, her favorite season, while the early morning birds sang.

Sylvia will be missed by all who knew her, but especially by her family, her husband of 53 years, Joseph; her daughter, Jessica; son in law, Jim; grandson, Liam, of whom she was very proud; her siblings, Gerald (Dawn) LeFort, Yvon (Linda) LeFort, Pauline Wuest, Carmelle (Mike) Todd, and Madeleine LeFort.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Henri LeFort; and brothers in law, Rene Wuest, and Hector LeBrun.

A private memorial service will take place for family and friends. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cheticamp.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre.
